Special shape for the jewellery of your dreams

Diamond or brilliant? There is no real difference: one is the name of the precious stone itself, while the other denotes the cut of the diamond. Here are the 10 most famous diamond cuts we use to create our precious jewellery pieces.

Round diamond
The round diamond is better known as the “brilliant” diamond and comprises 57 facets.
It is the most common and also the most popular cut on the market and some consider it to be the perfect diamond cut because its proportions, symmetry and polish maximise its brilliance and sparkle.

Princess diamond
The princess cut diamond is also very popular due to its elegant square shape. Its brilliance is just as impressive as a round diamond, which is why it is often used in engagement rings as the ultimate pledge of love.

Emerald cut diamond
The “emerald” cut is one of the most elegant of all diamond cuts, yet not as popular as the other cuts mentioned.
It has a large rectangular table that reveals all the transparent beauty of the diamond.
Since impurities are readily visible in emerald cut diamonds, it is important to choose a stone that is very pure.

Pear diamond
The “pear” shape is as beautiful as it is elegant and timeless. It is inspired by the “brilliant” and “marquise” cuts and is used for rings, making the finger appear slimmer, or for pendants where the precious stone sits in the small hollow of the neck for a very sensual appeal.

Oval diamond
The “oval” cut is a modified round diamond consisting of 55 facets and, if it is cut very well, provides excellent brilliance.

Radiant diamond
The “radiant” diamond has a rectangular shape with cut corners. The proportions and facets of the “radiant cut” highlight the diamond and intensify its sparkle, allowing the eyes of the beholder to admire all its beauty.

Asscher diamond
The “asscher” cut diamond has an octagonal shape and is similar to the emerald cut but with a more square shape that reflects the light better, making it more brilliant and sparkly.

Cushion diamond
The “cushion cut” is a very common and fashionable diamond. It has a square or rectangular shape with rounded corners and large facets that improve the brilliance of the stone.
This shape is ideal for coloured diamonds because the intensity of the colour spreads throughout the stone.

Heart diamond
The heart shape is the quintessential romantic cut and a modified version of the classic round diamond.
It is perfect for engagement rings, giving that aura of uniqueness that every woman is looking for.

Marquise diamond
The “marquise” cut has a long oval shape with tapered ends. Its facets offer a high level of brightness and reflection of light.
The double pointed ends of the “marquise” diamond give it a sense of grandeur. This cut is credited to King Louis XV who wanted a diamond that reflected the beautiful smile of the Marquise de Pompadour.
